This is my last favour

Memory is a good shelter.
Love doesn’t always last forever,
There’s a drug for every fever.

My heart has made you an altar.
This shoulder will still hold your weight,
It will not crush beneath your crate.

This is a poetic letter.
Lost in a vast sky full of stars,
Your last words ring like stabbing scars.

May your path lead you to better.
Your light no longer shines my way,
You’ve found a spark that holds you sway.

I’ve given each line a meter.
With rhymes to make it musical,
Everything else is lyrical.
