The Friends I Find In Bees

What do you know of bees?
I’ve tasted their honey and felt their sting.
I am no friend of bees

In their presence I am not at ease,
Yet my scent seems to compel them.
This ill luck has me displeased.

I am not drawn to hives
Or the secret of their lives.
But I love to watch them dance on nectar
Nature willingly parting herself to be ravaged.

This piece has tasted of a bitter comb
Oh rose! Sharpen thy thorns
Let these golden wings find another petal to dive.
