Do Not Die Today

For the sake of tomorrow, please stay
And become flowers that bloom into joy.
Do not die like the soldier boy.

Do not use the Pilgrim’s songs as a way,
Become a canticle of life’s rebirth,
Be a river, be a cloud, become earth.

While you travel, please be humble
Eggs bear yoke when they crumble.
Through the hard winds and soft grounds, do not die
Remain awake so I don’t cry.
Unfold your emotions, let earth feel it
And when tomorrow comes holding death, just commit.
