The Walls We Build To Keep Us In

nnbnn

This high haven that now traps us
Writings and tags on every side
Principles crowned by a just cause
Wishes that confine to confide

This high haven that now traps us
Was once out of reach from the tide.
Feels like riding on a lost bus,
We forget the comfort we hide.

Heights that snuff out lights in our eyes,
We crouch even when we can rise.
Walls held in place by moulds of ice,
Wisdom sometimes eludes the wise.

Heights that snuff out lights in our eyes,
Stealing the sparkles of sunrise.
We pray they don’t fold in our lies,
Safety becomes a deadly prize.

================================
Most days our walls are water-made
folding its hands to watch us sleep.
They tease darkness till it’s afraid
until our dying makes us weep.
Most days our walls are water-made,
liquidating fears so we’re cheap.
Bought with a voice that feels betrayed
On such days, our walls oversleep.

On those days when our walls hide us,
the girl may open wide her legsー
paddle and ocean may discuss
about drowning and making eggs.
On those days when our walls hide us,
gods may find it full with the kegs
answering prayers while they fuss.
On such days, our wall may need pegs

Ruddapoet
============================
The walls we build to keep us in
Are what really puts us out there.
Feeding the fears we lock within
It is that which has us blaming fear.

The wall we build to keep us in
Are in ours heads. Built with false care
to keep us sane and safe from sin
And pains we think are not to bear.

Let us build then tear these walls down
To sleep in peace before we die.
Our demons are allowed to frown,
But dare not look us in the eye.

Let us build then tear these walls down
For to ourselves we must not lie.
Nobody is after our weak souls crown.
Forget the lapel, wear your tie.

Miidong
=================================
The walls we build to keep us in
Would learn to keep us out as well.
They’d choose what they want to be seen
And soon they’d decide what we smell.

The walls we build to keep us in
Would be our perfect home and shell
They’d help us lose the love within
And find a place for us in hell.

The walls that keep us out are here
Their concretes make the finest steel
What we know, we don’t tend to fear
What we do not, we call surreal

The walls that keep us out are here
Sooner our prison would reveal
These walls have made us insincere
Living outside them is unreal.

Leonell
==============================
To keep us in,we need a wall
To fence the body, mind and soul.
To stay out of trouble, we fall.
To stand on land, we find a hole.

To keep us in,we need a wall
To Lead us all down to life’s goal.
To travel standing still we call
To stretch the body’s face we stroll.

Sometimes in the mind we try first.
Sometimes we all try not to try.
Sometimes for this trial we thirst.
Sometimes in this process we die.

Sometimes in the mind we try first.
Sometimes in the process we cry.
Sometimes of all it is the worst.
Sometimes we all succeed and fly.

============================
We build, yet we’re never secured.
…These white lies to deceive ourselves.
We keep people out to stay cured
Like kept off books from dusty shelves

We build, yet we’re never secured
While our tamed thoughts roam wild like elves
Beauty sealed out, hurt stays anchored
We seek to shield, it further delves.

We build with blocks of emotions
Till the song turns a monotone
Written in flawed staff notations
Walls that bake the heart with a bone

We build with blocks of emotions
They sometimes grow like a cyclone
We’d built without ventilations
We’re caved in, so we burn alone
