Poetry: Fences!

These
Fences
Whether good
Or whether bad,
Make for enemies.
They keep in,keep out,
Feign fake faces,
But pray for
Distance
Long.

Fence
Your world,
With my heart.
Build a poem
With me right inside.
Let not these walls cough
Bricks, made of us.
Let this be
Our home.

They
Build walls
Bricked with sticks
Others of stones
Carved into boxes.
With pulled-up fences
And frawned faces
They love old;
Hate new –
Me.

Walls
Breaking
Through my lids
Refugee sings
When will I be free?
Can I jump and limp?
So chains won’t lock
My soft veins
Let peace
Reign

One
Block set
Cement laid
Faces harden
Barriers build up
Access is denied
Flesh becomes cold
Ice melts fast
Cold hearts
Don’t

Climb
My walls,
Overcome
Its defenses.
Heights strengthen by fear.
Strip me of caution,
Sweet kill, no knife!
Bleed me blue,
I will
Mend!

Fence
I’ve built
From burnt bricks,
Burnt with my hurts.
It feels cozy here,
One’s the best number.
I’ve loved my fence
Like Gor’s art.

Bars
Real crossed.
Prisoner
The worst of worse-
Inaccessible.
Slaved curious thoughts.
Mind so clouded.
Cupid hearts
Opened-
Cracked.

Steel,
Metal,
Molten bricks,
Guard her frail heart,
Bruised, crushed, broken, often,
Fallen, but rise twice,
Protect she swore,
Metal fence she
Built around
Her soft
Heart.
