READ: AFRAH MOHAMMED |Brazed, Yet Sublime

sublime

Sitting on the stairs, so sublime,
Eyes fixed on the horizon, dazed
Happy, sad, waiting for bedtime

Any who passes picks a mime,
Isn’t her pretty face all hazed?
Sitting on the stairs, so sublime

They think all she does is begrime,
The little stuff they had emblazed,
Happy, sad, waiting for bedtime.

But then, this is her best past time,
All alone, silent, her soul brazed
Sitting on the stairs, so sublime

“If only they knew,” she would chime,
How everything is so unglazed
Happy, sad, waiting for bedtime.

She’s beautiful, a paradigm
Though broken, appears quite unfazed.
Sitting on the stairs, so sublime,
Happy, sad, waiting for bedtime
