WORD POET’S SOLO V.
POETRY: FREESTYLE
SOLO EXERCISE …
LEON
THEY
They, is like a decision to make way
for the right things
But they, make way for the wrong
things, and say…
Not knowing that the pathway to our
human existence
Is not only in tomorrow but today.
Heavy is the heart rooted in an
umbilical past
And astray, just another word for our
misdemeanors when we go the wrong way
So they, blame they who they know
Know nothing about what they do or
they say.
But hey, if somebody is gonna stop
dying
Maybe soon but not today.
Easier they say
But even beauty queens are scared of
the runway.
Ever hear a pastor say, if I may,
That he jitters over the approach of
Sunday?
Eve offered and Adam chewed, that’s
true
But they knew…so I will not pray, cos
Each is a selection of one
But a mention of none
So kill the phrase “on each passing
day”
To be certain that April shouldn’t
come after the month of May
…Or at least not today.
Young bloods as they, but success
delays
So they turn, they learn, they rebel,
they slay
For family, for self, for blood, for
religion, hate, discord
So life becomes a one-way train
relocated to a new station
Ignoring the human queue accumulation
Cos this nation is not stationed
For a genuine human rehabilitation
So, why the hesitation?
I salute you with a license to kill
…Cos not everybody who is sick is
mentally ill
So if Gates Bills are Microsoft
That doesn’t make your utility bills
be home-made soft.
I bleed when I pierce me
You bleed when you pierce you
They too bleed but no one wants to mention
None except a few.
Hope is slim and thread is fatter
I exclude my humor so they don’t
flatter
The difference between ice and water
Is in form…
One is the same
And so is the other.
