Needs Will All Disappear

In vain we’d preach to these heads
Scalps that are immorally moral
Those with needs that need nothing
Friends who are now perfect strangers
Whose collars were attached to your own
But because you were right, they left.
Days before, they came with a Turkey’s gobble
Yes, they were not exactly annoying
They came as water everywhere but not a drop to drink
Carefully groomed panhandlers
Who could cater to you for all eternity
But oh dear heavens, how did i miss this?
I guess i carried the bag across again
Mourning made my mood more meaningful
I see how drabs of this dirty earth
Can be porous like a leaky bucket
