Love apart

I don’t envy the moon
For being between two solitary pines
Frozen forever
Like the two robbers
On either side of our Christ redemption tree.
The softness of the moon
Belies her power, to set lovers apart
But she did it again and again
So often she takes away her beautiful robe
Leaves you naked at the end of the night.
