Fading butterflies

the world would grow pale
my rainbow would turn grey
love would become stale

if you, my butterfly, fade away
the flowers would lose pollination
the world would grow pale

then i must lose this garden
to a storm that i cannot name
my rainbow would turn grey

breast would lose its taste
and nothing would satisfy me
love would become stale

a butterfly must give its colours
to the flowers in exchange for nectar
else the whole world burns

your wings are fading
but I mustn’t tell you that
a butterfly must give its colours

because you will and I will not be
satisfied that you wept
to the flowers in exchange for nectar

I am waiting for a new adventure
where you keep beating your wings
else the whole world burns.
