To the emissary of death

Who has killed more men than death and
Hidden more bones under the earth?
Who sent arrows to fly by day and
Pestilence to walk in darkness that
He may fish in the souls whose
Soles touch the face of the earth. And afterwards,
Lured God’s Son into a man, so he
May swallow up His flesh too?
Death is a bee that kisses the skin of all men.
Death is a sting!
