that’s how we are born
we are first carried around
and when we arrive
we are carried again.
after a while, we carry ourselves
all through life
and in the lives of people.
but we do not carry on
for too long.
we are carried again
like pets and garbage
only this time, we pay
for the bike, the tricycle
the truck, the taxi
the coffin, the hearse.
