Ola Poetry: African Proverbs

photo-1579172342894-e6d751ec390c

“The eye never forgets what the heart has seen.”

a dark room is a painting
of ignorance in its bliss.
no scene melts into a story
if the feeling is not true.
the eye is the left hand
cause sin is not far from it,
the heart is a right hand
cause liberation is its burden.
in every war fought there’s light
there’s memory that is a scarred river,
some times the heart opens its borders
the eyes let it fall as tears.
the alphabets spell beauty before forgetfulness
tis’ why memory is a rosary for the bad and good
so this journey of life will not be careful about its stories.
