every man was born the same way
we decide what stories to write
what tracks to run on, how to win
only a decision is not enough
if you’re one of the oppressed
-one of the bravest I’ll never meet-
of what use is freedom in a cage?
if a man can speak, why choose to be blind?
an unfaithful partner shouldn’t return
what words can qualify a man
who saw skin colour as a brotherhood
and sacrificed almost three decades
of his life fighting for us to be free?
