To be sixteen again
Thin like a rake
Smart, witty, a ‘readerholick,’
Full of mischief.
This time,
I will make a round of the clubs
Causing mum a lot of concern
I will wear a lot of blues
Date fresh boys
With lots of money
We will travel around the world
Go to Japan
Eat pounded yam at the Nigerian embassy
Sing and dance at the village market
Go home with a wrestler
And wear his name on my sleeve.
Yes, I will write poems
