we are
only naked when
we undress our thoughts.
that’s why we think less.
that’s why we fear,
second guess ourselves,
lose our marbles at
the slightest stressor.
that’s why we respond,
to protect our inner selves.
stimulus, an incentive
for a fight, for flight.
we open to closure,
secrets are our shields.
uncovering may expose us to a cold,
a kind of fever.
we may become bare,
unprotected, weak.
we may become translucent.
and realise we are without covering.
