Let Fate Decide

Twist these hands I will
If I must decide
Whether head or tail
I’ll choose neither
Life is not a switch you flip

I know to pray when
I strike my left foot twice
When my eyes twitch
When my palms itch

I once knew things that
Could change fortunes
Like a strand of lashes
Buried under the armpit
A dash of superstition
Here and there

I once toyed with fate
That had brown pupil
And the stare that followed
Laced with hate

Now, I spin my will
In portions not so popular
I skip through the
motion of decisions
But a coin, I will never flip.
