Grandfather says that ‘a stitch in time saves 8 from being late’
it is why he grew up a tailor
always mending a broken time
between his son and me
his pup.

Father says like everyone ‘a stitch in time saves 9’
when he rhymes on a line
but he never found his needle
while looking in the haystack.
He says to me that hay is a distraction
and whoever feeds off distractions
will be as stubborn as a foal
I grew up a young bard in this barn
with just eyes that are digging this haystack.
