On the Decline of heartbeats and

I fear that too many people pray
every day so it takes a random pick

for requests to be granted – I wonder if
my life chooses to end today, will this

up-and-down be worth it? ‘if my life chooses
to end’ because death doesn’t seek consent-

and here on earth, I am just ‘matter’ that has
weight and is occupying space. I’m a gas particle

with a beating heart. A heart that beats for fear, beats for anxiety, beats for lust, and love.

In a garden of uncertainties lies emotions:
the sight of a person that brought one bliss

turns to a sight that brings pain to one,
and living turns to another type of hell.

saying ‘I hope my heart-beat for long’
is wishing for long life, and love, and grief.
