In criticism of self

the words that
is said by a man
to himself is what
he believes to be
the bitter truth.
a leaf may see
himself as an
irreplaceable friend
to the long iroko tree,
until it one day falls
expecting the tree
to at least shed a tear,
and with no hard feelings,
the tree makes another friend.
the same can be said
about a man who doesn’t
listen to the criticism
his conscience tells,
he is a proud green leaf
that will fall or be plucked.
