The Hunger

Before I say anything
or talk about how intestines
lose interest overtime, intertwine
and almost strangle me because
ingested food digested in no time
and left a hollow in my insides so
every growl echoes so loud,
my pocket responds, or the kitchen
calls out, or when I don’t respond in time
I lose my mind.
Before I dive deep, let me just say,
I like my pancakes with a lot of eggs
and milk with chopped bananas
and I’m actually
hungry at the moment
