When the damage is from the inside
It is never the same person that returns when healed
especially when one can look back at his years
and see the beginning on a nearby hill.
Uncooked muscles, half boiled minds
already rotten before any beauty is experienced,
maggots from people we trusted to clean us
transferred down like a family trait
and for generations, the scars remain mockery.
Young bodies used as signposts for lusts lost
lust found, lust feasted upon and conquered,
children already flagged down before they understand symbols.
When the damage is from the inside
