the difference between
now and then
is in tenses –
I was
but now I am.
I did
but now I do
no longer for you
but for me.
today
I grin as wide as the sea
tomorrow
I am the sea
stretched out as a hug
because I will
remember today to do
to commit
to make no covenant
to will tomorrow
to do today
