When language fails

All fingers were made to do
is not just clasp to pray,
or clench to punch
or even point at the guilty.
They’re an extension of the tongue
when it fails to speak,
the lips when it fails to kiss,
the eyes when it fails to see,
and the ears when it fails to hear.
so have you asked yourself if
it has touched the heart in times of peace?
