The Blanket

beneath the sheet at night
a man and his loving wife
tell truthful tales and tapes
not all of it. some of it.
the man admires another
he says his union was coerced
“I wish I met you before my wife”
he massages his ego
to spend part of his ego
to impress Ada’Amaka.
his wife on the other hand
uses her other hand
to juggle another’s wand
while singing, playing the band
until what has risen safely lands.
but beneath the sheet at night
this man and his loving wife
lie, look into each other’s eyes
touch, warm each other’s lips
moan, please each other’s ears.
