For Martin & Malcolm

Martin was a pastor
who knew religion, led the church
laced his heart with the right of the black race
With open eyes, he had more than a dream
until from behind, he was shot to the realm

Malcolm was an Imam
who did not use his love for God
as an excuse to be hypocritical or unjust
by any means necessary justice must be served
for he knew they’d pay one of us to kill one of us

there would always be opinions to what we have become
it’s our choice to decide whose empathy is our type of home.
