A kind of Prayer

Who taught men to pray;
To look up to the heavens
And say “Lord, hear us”?

Could it be the pain?
What if we do cry in vain
And faith’s lunacy?

Fighting fate with faith
What if there’s no miracle?
Why then do we pray?
