If you live long enough,
You’ll see worse than bad,
You’ll see better than good,
You will wait for long in vain
To know the best never comes,
Every wrinkle on your skin
Represents things you’ve done
That is uncountable but known,
If you live long enough
You’ll watch the houses you built
Broken and reenacted by a new trend
Life experiences will gossip to your ears
And you’ll be forced to give bits of advice
That would be turned a deaf ear to
Just like you do not listen now too,
And you’ll wake up with a frown,
Or go to sleep wearing a happy smile
Depending on the bridges you’ve built,
Daughters you loved or neglected
Or sons you lied to and didn’t correct.
