A road like home

Came with open eyes and crying mouth
The heart knows it is far from home
A place we judge others for things we do
Make friends and cloud our minds with doubts
A family isn’t what blood always brings
Life chose every other complexion but fair
Too many places with no fare to go to
Too many words with few meanings
Insufficient time to live as one pleases
Enough debt of sins to amass, to pay
And I wonder why the note to the dead
Is for them to quietly rest in peace
And we go back to roam this simile at home
Clinging on to life as though all is well
I laugh in remembrance of heaven and hell

Wildkhard [TA]
