Bullets for Sale

If I say no to religion,
Would you see what I want you to see about me?
And what if I’m religious?
Won’t you let me be
bearing every price for my decisions
If you’re suffering,
And I am suffering
Why then are you cutting my people?
Politics, territorial inequality or
The wailing and screams soothes your ego?
Where’s the victory in striking a man
Who is not interested in fighting you?
What does convictions have to do with blood, life and death?
If a man must fall for a belief,
Doesn’t that make the whole idea wrong?
It pleases you that we are running
Oh! Masquerade,
One day you’d have to dance
Drop your whip to the music we’d play
One day, you’d run from the flames you scratch
One day it would all make sense
That none of this would ever make sense.
