Sunny Star

a father’s son should look like him;
a black dog can’t birth a white cat,
a headless man can’t wear a hat.
the law is solemn, it’s a hymn.

when a star
chooses to become a sun,
it is clear;
the sun fornicated
with the night sky.
the moon is red with anger.

an astronomer on a mat
stares a wife with such a stern grim
spits on the sand for ants to swim,
tells her her child will be a brat.

it is no lie,
what goes around
comes around,
sometimes with extra good or bad,
depending on the seed
that was buried in the sand.
