Briefly gorgeous

Like sunset,
We’re gorgeous for a moment or two.
Then we pass; into ugliness.
Sometimes, there are clouds
So the world
does not get to see
that we can create rainbows
with our eyes.
We are immaculate
and celestial bodies
like stars, comets
and black holes.
For a moment or two,
we’re briefly gorgeous,
like a sunset in winter.
