Briefly gorgeous

For a moment i
didn’t think you’d be
to me this brief.
Well, to me, this disbelief
or wedge of unbelief
has opened my mind
to the truth that a summary
is like a harmful skit:
short enough to make you forget
comic enough to jeer at you
and remind you of what a manuscript
lost in your sleep
can do to an entire dream.
For a moment I thought,
happiness is short-lived.
