Parts of speech poems

Conjunctions like ‘and’ can serve as a glue,
making one sentence from parts that were two

verbs are the actions of actors on stage,
dancing and crying and laughing with rage.

pronouns stop names from appearing again,
he, she and they cannot hear it complain.

prepositions are gossips, they disclose
one’s place, position and time to his foes.

adjectives express attributes we see
and not see; big, smart, colourful and free.

oh! how interjections come without plan,
suddenly like August visitors can.

adverbs hate nouns so they stay far from them,
kindly and firmly they hold a verb’s stem.

a noun is everything called by a name;
Younglan, Butterfly, Rome, Table and Shame.
