Ancient Egypt: poems from 1570—1085 B.C.

1. According to The Immortality of Writers, people will forget the names and deeds of dead men after a while but their written books will forever be remembered

2. Books are compared to immortality because books don’t die. Writers like William Shakespeare and co are no more here with us today but their works will forever live

3. A lovers’ garden setting

4. The last two lines talk about love. The kind of feeling gotten when one is genuinely in love.

5. The speaker of Immortality may have chosen to mention specific people in the poem because of their relevance and contribution during the ancient days of Egypt

6. The kind of books that make people to be remembered includes autobiography, biography, memoir, poetry, leadership etc.

7. The images in Immortality are a book, a house, a tomb and a temple. The thing they have in common is that they are all places where people live.

8. I think so many love poems are filled with garden imagery because of the serenity of gardens, the cool breeze, the beautiful flowers which is a symbol of love and butterflies.

9. I want to be remembered as a happy man who also made others happy

10. I am a friend, a helping hand, a stepping stone, a conflict resolver, a peacemaker, and hopefully, a good parent.
