For fun and for love
I eat for the quality, disregarding quantity
Like a mouse on cheese, I food-binge
It has become a habit I indulge in
Little by little, till I devour all.
My lips love to move, in that half moon style
Noiselessly I chew, then swallow.
I eat when I watch, read and I’m bored
My tongue loves to bath in spicy juices…
I love to sweat at the gym
To run till my heart starts racing
To feel pain as the heat rises through my body
Like slowly pulling out a band aid
Or letting drops of candle wax drop on your skin.
I love to bend and breath through the yoga
Stretch till I feel my muscles tug, and veins pop
I love the tiny beads of sweat, forming round my pulsating skin
Itching to be wiped by the swipe of the back of my palms
This truly makes me feel alive.
I love to dream through the day and night
Pretend I am Cindrella, who just found love and wealth
I would dream of pretty dresses and nice shoes
Fast cars and an apartment in new York all made of glass
I dream of a new class, where royalty is me
And I am ordering the world to do my biding.
I would read for fun, feed my curiosity
Till I go wide-eyed and silent.
One by one I would feel the words
Let my eye scan through like a quick parade
And when the adrenaline starts pumping
I know I’ve reached my peak.
I love to be in the pool at summer
Wear a tube and pretend to swim
Duck under and hold my breath
Till my eyes turn to the colour red.
I would clean till the air feels neat
Till my eyes can see a sense of order
And nausea cannot reach for my stomach.
The things I do for fun
To some feel like a chore
But they are the things that make me happy,
So I swim, I eat, I workout, I read, I watch
And pretend to dance without music.
