Heaven is…

The smell of new furniture
The sanctuary of mama’s teeth
as they bask in laughter that makes her cry
Dust and water, telling me nature is better.
Heaven is in a violin’s string,
Left to right, solemn and calming
It is in a baby that grips my pinky
Heaven is a cauldron of peace,
Mashed potatoes and a snack of a mother’s love,
Heaven is the smile back of a crush
In a song that tears out depression
In a faith that finally turns out real
Heaven is gold and pearls,
White, doves, hymns, angels
Heaven is harmony in a death box.
