Poets with Superpowers

When it comes to poets i adore
I ignore the many i’d want
Like Wilde, Kipling, Cicero,
Did not want more of Keats’-
Knot of vain beauty.
Hounded down by Blake’s feats
Against Wadsworth Longfellow,
Reese, my mother, would always taunt
Dumping her choices before my door.

I and my mother never agreed
About who to call the greatest.
She loved Alkhawarizmi
I called Khaldun a god
She saw Poe’s Raven
I just wanted Shel’s rod.
I craved Hughes from Missouri
But she wanted Hardy at best.
Which beast were we both willing to feed?
