Hope is a beautiful thing.

“Hope is a beautiful thing,”
Mother will always tell me.
And it was true what she said,
One could see it when she smiles
and also in her blue eyes.
There’s this solid assurance
in the way she clings to hope.

“Hope for the best always son,”
Father will always tell me.
“But make sure that you also
expect the worst that might come.”
When ever I kneel to pray
for the rains to bless the crops,
I prepare for the flood too.
