Socially Awkward

This poet is not one to party hard.
Maybe with books
and food he cooks.
For being a bard
Means being awkward
and set apart
to uphold art.
For like a bird
searching for brooks
Of water in deserts, I yearn being smart.

Though being awkward does not always mean smart.
Some have no brooks
to perch a bird
or piece of art.
Though kept apart,
And though awkward;
A social bard
loves food he cooks
with help from books.
When poets party though, they do it hard.
