The Rest Is Kept Inside

Talking from both sides of my mouth
Pretending that I have no doubts
Yes! The small voice inside’s yelling
Saying things I can’t tell myself
Secret books shouldn’t be on the shelf

If the heart had mouth of its own
Everybody will live alone
But it’s a dam that never spills
It lets out what it feels like
And hold back those that feel like spikes

I talk and don’t talk all at once
The unsaid gathers ounce on ounce
Piling up till we cannot walk
Even the light holds some darkness
And the dark holds some brightness
