From what we think we know

Pygmalion’s feelings and flattering

The long lived bachelor
Without a wife to his home,
Fell skillfully for true love
With a marvelous female,
She was dressed in robes.

He addressed her with flattering speeches,
Embraced to see if she was ivory or flesh:
Laid his lips on hers and she kissed him
At his touch of her breast,
Flames burned up three times.

The gods are slightly indisposed,
His prayers was not answered.
Alive to his human form-
He rose from his soft pillows,
Gazed in wonder to see if his finery would be a real wife.
