Lost in Reality

Wild heart
Mild trap
Like clap
Or dart
One lost
More cost
We part

Length isn’t distance
I seek myself
Book on a shelf
Define my stance
One more failed fool
Lost in gold’s pool
Caught in a trance

Sun shined before the rain
While somewhere lurks the moon
This most be a cartoon
Deep cuts yet without pain
Why is this light too dark?
The truth piles in a stark
The cycle starts again

It used to be a baby dream
Then too many suns rose and fell
The road led where my tongue can’t tell
Like a gown, sewn down to its seam
I’m awake but it feels like sleep
Still stuck with a few pies to flip
Too bright a light from a small beam
