Ode To Gender Quality

With gender based communities rising
Some are yet to find their place.
They keep floating and musing
In and out of space.

High on feminism,
Afraid to be swallowed by lesser roles,
I chanted with criticism
Till my soul bore holes.

I can’t pee standing and not get stained!
The firewood of this piece will always sell.
This argument can get your spirit drained,
While the other party beats their chest as heads swell.

You’re African, woman, hence, a weak mind.
They expect you to be subliminally blind.
Your pride should lead you to the backyard
Those are yardsticks used to measure your standard.

===================================

We all have bones,
we all breathe air.
Our heartbeats produce tones,
but even life is not fair.

We don’t all release sperms,
nor do we all feel cramps.
But we’ve all got arms,
and we could all be champs.

Some have an extension between their legs,
others have to carry theirs with pride on their chest.
Yes, we all have eggs,
but we lay in one nest.

Our rights are in uniformity,
but we all can’t have equality.
Though we are formed from clay,
some reformed themselves on their way.

===============================

Equality is simply but a myth,
comparison is the game,
played by the lady, and Mr. Smith,
but nobody calls her by her real name.

History defined the game without words,
So we’re playing an unknown tune,
Dancing but we have swords
Blood will spill soon.

Gender, a bridgeless river.
Separating two distinct universe,
both stocking their quivers.
In the beginning, there was a curse.

Every man fighting to be the better one,
selectively dishing chores,
while binding some before the gun,
Words spilling like blood at the sound of this modern wars.
