Finding Faith

Are you at the top like the volcano?
Are you the wind?
Did you hide in between the lady’s legs?
You’re somewhere pinned?

I sought you with my tears, I called at night.
You never came.
I brought you gift of myself bearing no sin,
I was with shame.

I was told you’d be in the room of saints
glowing, all new.
You weren’t in the books mortals rewrote,
you left no clue.

Until I heard you in a child today,
you were laughter, pain, you were yesterday.
