Poetry: The Last Drop of Kindness
In a little town lived a miracle –
An ocean wide.
If ever a soul said
“I’ve never drunk from this tide,”
He lied.
This ocean was home, food, and a place of rest
for travellers and worn out wayfarers.
A day came when the ocean became land.
Cracks of weary skin showed.
The land needed seed to make her flow again.
Word travelled far
To reach the best seed makers
The morning a fair lady showed up
Asking for an ocean
Who had saved generations of travellers
From which she came,
The city greeted her with a sad smile.
She was shown the land in need of a seed.
No could convince her otherwise.
Her days by the land
Brought the most sonorous sound the city ever heard.
It turns out a little music, a few words,
a few drops of tears,
a little kindness no expert could make
Was all the kindness needed
to bring the ocean back
