Poetry: Dry Water
Dry
Water
Will quench not
Fire and that thirst.
I died, so you can’t.
This is one man’s thought
Take it, leave it
Believe me
This time
Please!

Ice
Liquid
Steamy seas,
Vapouring clouds.
They become water.
They all quench our thirst
Angry hailstones
Snowy trees
Become
Dry

Who
Visits
Sahara
Finds waterless
Rivers and oceans.
Dust flows from rivers.
Fleeting water
for as bones

Water!
Only reason
Heaven attracts me
To quit the life
That smells of awful sin
Is the thought of Lazarus
Dipping dry little fingers
For patched throats
Seeking spiritual

This
Liquid
Dryness hurts
Its waters drain
Even the soul’s sole.
Careful as you taste
Lest you feel shame
Staggering
Falling-
Down
Snizel.

The
Pain sticks.
Drought remains.
Thirst needs water
Water turns to dust.
Let us hunger still
Not for water
Not for dust
Just for
Life.
