Read: Godwin Ogebe | This Place

I am a place cold and numb
A place quiet and dumb
A place dark and lonely
Where everyone lives living gloomy

I am the home of untapped genius
Hidden beneath stone tablets
A place filled with sorrows
Piercing hearts like arrows

I am the home of ideas
Drowned in a flood of tears
The home of futures, bright as rainbows
Buried feet below
A home of riches
Buried beneath heaps of bones

I am a library of books unread
A hymn of songs unheard
I am a place everyone knows
Where a river of tears flows
Where everyone is equal and bears the title “late”
I am a cemetery
