Hypocrisy and Home

it’s hard to applaud when others win
and you don’t, the pain lies beneath your skin
yes, it costs more than a dime
to wait and carefully climb.
but before the turn is yours- clap and grin

we’re victims; hypocrisy is a plaque
so while you chase, allow others to track
build, you are your own Rome,
and if you like, make you roam
live or die, words will fly behind your back
