Poetry: In Memory of Libya Again!

There has been a song in my lungs that cries out
There is a story that is repeating history
Pictures with slaves tossed about
Men of cankerworms claiming glory
Seating in despair, believing a doubt
When will they sing of victory?

Men with pen pierced their caves
They wrote and sang amazing grace
I have a dream that this will wave
I have a dream that they will come to a better place
I call you heroes not slaves
I call you fighters in the black race

You have stepped on the foreign laces
The needles and thistles design your braveness
Thorns became crowns worn on Afro faces
Every whip will send them to their fine graves
Every penny sold will cast them a graisse
I call you heroes not slaves

Oh heroes, your names are imprinted on Africa’s vase like Lords
You are the leader without a leading mantle
A warrior without swords
A winner in trade battle
A singer with off chords
A warring soldier without weapons rattle

Sing on oh merry hearts!
You have blasted the government to lame
Your voices has reached their ears, three little bones and brain
Africa tames you like precious arts
We can’t bear your death glare
We are tired of foolish smarts

Every African, Nigerian, Ghanaian, South African, Egyptian,Kenyan,Zimbabwean,Ethiopian
can see through your warm chocolate eyes
We feel every pang
We are raising every flag carved in African colours
I call you heroes not slaves
I call you fighters in the Black race.
